Of course I have not your knowledge as English-native speaker, but even if really some (or many) English-native speakers would not be impressed about Miss Lis accent: There will be round about 10 another songs on Lenas album, without Miss Lis participation as singer. Or is your "not being impressed" in general depending to questions regarding a possible Single-success especially in the US-market? (My question is not ironical. I am, as you maybe know, very open minded for such thoughts.)Germans and non-Germans hear music differently, as well as the accents. I already commented on the accents. Lena's voice is pleasant to a native English-speaker's ears. Miss Li, less so.
I feel that we know very little about what is going on, and I am going to try to take another break from speculating beyond responding to you.
Based on the little information we have, as far as possible (not much), I looked into what is known about the people involved in the album. I am not personally encouraged by what I found/observed. That doesn't mean the album won't be good, but I wonder if the album will be marketed outside of the DACH countries. With the minimal information I have (no inside information), I get the impression that if does well in DACH, it may do not do as well outside. I was hoping for more international appeal. While many people will buy even an average album by Lena in DE, outside of DE there are no haters. If an album has universal (no pun intended) appeal, it can sell more copies outside of DACH just within Europe. Not in any one country, but in Europe as a whole, and perhaps beyond - such as Turkey.
English is understood throught Europe, so music in English could be a success in Europe, but not a success in GB and the US unless it crosses cultural bounderies when it comes to lyrics/language. There is a Lena song which was not accepted in Germany, but I feel would have been a hit as written and performed by Lena in the English-speaking countries. It was written by at least one American and one Brit.
Satellite is an example of a song which was cross-culturallly successful.

This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Ich habe mir übrigens zuletzt die beiden Alben "Beats and Bruises" und "Dancing the whole way home" zugelegt.
